Week 3- Post 1: The Supreme Court
Week 3- Post 1
The Supreme Court
As the United States Government constantly evolves to meet the ever-changing needs of the country which we all call home, one thing remains constant in it's unwavering effort to ensure law and order follows the sacred words of our Founding Fathers. While most court rooms determine the guilt or innocence of an individual and the punishment which individuals may face, the Supreme Court is a unique place where people can make their case for the constitutionality of actions taken by others.
The Supreme Court allows for a non partisan room in which disputes can be settled and the American public can receive guidelines on actions. However, more and more often, the public is seeing the appointment of justices designed to sway the courts opinion more conservative or liberal. A perfect example of that is the push by liberals to expand the number of justices in an effort to sway the opinion away from a conservative one.
Politico recently released an article in which they claim liberals want to sway the court away from the conservative agenda they have currently. On the contrary, some democrats, including Presidential Nominee Joe Biden, are against this idea and believe it will simply ruin the sanctity of the court.
